RINO Jeff Flake Threatens To Block Trump’s Judicial Nominees

Jeff Flake may be done as a US Senator, but he still has a little bit of time left and is using it to prove how much of a Republican he isn’t. Once again siding with the Democrats, Flake has vowed to block all of President Donald Trump’s judicial nominees, but it’s all going to backfire in his face.

Jeff Flake retired from the US Senate because he knew his liberal tendencies would get him challenged in an upcoming primary election in the red state of Arizona and he’d embarrassingly lose his seat. The ironic thing is he was just replaced by far-left whacko democrat Kristen Sinema. Maybe he should have just come out of the closet and switched parties.

One of the major delusions that cause Democrats to get the vapors is that Donald Trump will fire special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating the President for colluding with the Russians to steal the 2016 presidential election away from Hillary Clinton. Trump has slammed this investigation as a “witch hunt” but has never indicated that he would interfere with it in any way.

That doesn’t matter. Democrats believe Trump will terminate Mueller, so they slapped together some legislation to prevent the President from doing this.

This legislation would ban the President from firing the special counsel, giving that authority instead to a senior Justice Department official. It also offers a provision for a federal judge to reinstate the special counsel should he be fired. Because this bill would undermine presidential authority, The Hill reports Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked it.

Since all good liberals hate the fact that President Trump has the powers bestowed upon him by the US Constitution, McConnell’s moved triggered Flake into hysterics.

“I have informed the majority leader I will not vote to advance any of the 21 judicial nominees pending in the Judiciary Committee or vote to confirm the 32 judges awaiting confirmation on the Senate floor until [the bill] is brought to the full Senate for a vote,” cried Flake.

Unless Senate Republicans vote to illegally restrict Trump’s power, Jeff Flake is going to hold the President’s judicial nominees hostage. This is a bad move even for a RINO like him.

Flake can actually do this. As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he is the swing vote. There are 10 Republicans, 10 Democrats, and Jeff Flake. The committee votes along party lines and, if Flake wasn’t such a closet liberal, the Republicans would have an 11-10 majority and could easily pass the nominees to a full Senate vote where the GOP has a Flake-proof majority. As it stands now, Flake can kill any and all nominees in committee.

Thankfully, this hissy fit is only a temporary setback. Come 2019, Flake’s reign of fussiness is over and the Republicans will still have a majority in the new Congress. All of these judges will eventually be confirmed and the only thing anyone will remember about this is what a liberal crybaby Jeff Flake was.

This threat is an empty one because it doesn’t stop the process, merely delaying it momentarily. Clearly, this publicity stunt is some last-minute RINO legacy building and to shore up his anti-Trump credentials for a doomed-to-fail 2020 presidential run.

Flake’s rampant NeverTrumpism will never earn him the nomination for either party, but it might just get him his own show on CNN, which might actually be what he’s angling for. There’s nothing more dangerous than a wounded rhino, but a lame-duck RINO like Jeff Flake is just sad.
